Bonjour cupcake

The longer this day lasts, the more frustrated and angry I get. So I better go to sleep now. Seriously. I've written all of these things down, but I decided to delete that paragraph, because when I'll look back at this day I don't want to remember these bad things, only the good ones. Running on a treadmill, laughing at the office and reading a book. The rest is history.

On the gym front I'm doing good, on a diet front too. I've been tempted today with cookies and a cheesecake with strawberries and I resisted to both! I am so proud of myself! To celebrate I bought two cute shopping/tote bags. That's the only cupcakes I can have for now.

My Birthday is in 2 months time and this year I'm planning special fiesta - not the usual clubbing drunkenness but a picnic in a park. There are a lot of details to plan - beginning with the choice of the park - but I really like this idea. It will be a great way to have fun in the middle of the day - a far cry from the usual dancing in the middle of the night.

Sunglasses

Today was another perfect-weather day in London! I finally wore my favourite plain grey sport pumps and a normal 'fur'-free jacket. BUT of course there was a time when I was cold and the minute later I was boiling hot. Hopefully the weather will remain like it. By now I'm pretty obsessed by now with checking weather reports for weekend.

After the gym and before I went back home to take a shower and change clothes - I was going to the w.e.office today - I rushed to Primark to buy some sunglasses I saw yesterday in this cowbiscuits' post. I am not a huge fan of Primark - especially clothes can be deceitful and fall apart after a couple of washes - but sometimes you can get there a fantastic bargain/deal and there's no way you can say "no". I have really wonderful bags and jewellery from there and everyone complimented me on it. So when I saw that there are sunglasses for ONLY £1 I knew I had to check it out!

Because I have a round and small face it is very hard for me to get a nice pair of sunglasses. Usually the ones from Topshop, River Island or H&M are sticking out for 3cm on my right and left. Last year it was pretty bad - I spent almost whole day looking for a nice pair and went home with nothing.

Today I bought three pairs and they are great! First thing I've noticed after I put them on was that there was something different - they actually "stick" to my face properly and there's no sticking out. I told Dom-dom and girls at the w.e. office and they're all buying them! I also bought some charm necklaces and a nice grey-et-silver scarf. I'm going there tomorrow for a longer lookout.

AM came to London!

Today was CRAZY! In the morning I went to the work experience office, because they asked me yesterday and I've helped with some witness statement documents. I also had a nice chat with D. about horse riding. Oh, how much I miss it. The fact that I can't afford it makes me so sad, especially because horse riding is one of these things which really makes me happy no matter what.

Then, I travelled to Bond Street to meet AM!!! She came to London for her graduation, which was yesterday. It was AMAZING to see her - we had sushi and went to Selfridges to buy her mom a birthday present - Louis Vuitton bag. Apparently, LV does not sell two the same items to Asians. There was an Asian lady, who was buying a wallet and a bag and the shop assistant told her, that this combination is OK, but she is not allowed to buy two wallets or two bags at the same time - she has to come back next day! I was so surprised! It sounds like a discrimination and a breach of EU law - freedom of movement of goods (Articles 28-30), but then - China and Japan are not in the EU (obviously), so they can't do anything... Apparently, the same restrictions are in the Parisian LV stores and there are people who are willing to pay a white person to do extra shopping for them. This reminds me when Jimmy Choo for H&M collection hit the stores and I was queuing with AB for 5 hours to get the bag and shoes. The girl outside the queue asked AB to get her shoes and she even wanted to pay, but AB simply said: karma.

Anyway, I had a long and  nice chat with AM. She assured me that everything's going to be fine and I just have to keep trying. She is miserable back home and was so depressed she couldn't even eat the food. She simply started crying every time her mom put a plate in front of her. I am so glad I've spent half day with her! We both had tears in our eyes when we said goodbye, but it is for now. And she will visit more often.

Boxing Day

Today I'm not feeling very well and we've stayed home chillaxing (as ECH says). Due to the Skype-internet problems I haven't talked to my parents much, so I called home and Mother was like OK, OK, we're busy, we've baked some cake and everything's fine. I never thought this day would come when my parents actually didn't have a single fight during the holidays. Usually the pattern is like that: serenity before storm, lightnings, fireworks, more fireworks and back to love is all around. I can't believe they are actually getting along! It feels so good to know that and I just hope I haven't jinxed it!

We were planning to take a walk around London today, but because I feel really miserable we've put it of until Tuesday. Tomorrow we're going to the shopping centre to maybe catch some bargains - unless everything is sold out, because as far as I know there's shopping MADNESS in the UK at the moment. Boxing Day is a Sale Day - similar to the American Black Friday after Thanksgiving. On top of that, of course Transport for London aka tube workers decided to strike today and probably tomorrow - we still can get to the city, but I don't want to image what's going on there.

Saint Nicholas Day

Because sometimes you just have to get up, put on your favourite heels, put on a slap of make-up, a brave face and walk out of door. Today I went to buy some Christmas cards and little gifts. I went today hoping that on Monday afternoon shopping at the shopping centre will be a rather nice experience. I was wrong. Just driving there I could see rows and rows of cars at the car park. What's happening inside can be described by only one word: frenzy. People walking everywhere, buying, trying, checking and carrying bags. I don't even want to know what was going on there yesterday and on Saturday!

A little something for Boyfriend
I love buying gifts - it doesn't matter to whom. I just enjoy the thought that they will be pretty and useful for someone. I know almost every time what to buy for whom. I do have some problems, but usually after spending a far share of time at the shops I can dissect the best buy. Today is Saint Nicholas Day and it's a huge celebration in Poland. St. Nicolas is putting little gifts for children under the pillows and it's a huge deal. When I was going to school - doesn't matter if it was primary school or high school - it was a tradition that in the class we were drawing lots two weeks before and then buying gifts anonymously to the person we were lucky (or not) to draw. There were years when I was coming home with tears because a stupid boy bought me only chocolate and a stupid decorations while others got amazing colour books and crayons. There were years when I've exchanged draws with others so I could end up buying present to one of my best friends and she was buying mine, so we went out together and I was happy to know what I would get. Today I've bought Boyfriend little something, I hope he'll like it! I've also bought little something for myself, because it was such a long, long time since I've indulged myself. And I like it!

A little something...
...for me!

What to wear: Halloween Edition

Every day is a never-ending saga of What to wear (My wardrobe is full and I STILL have nothing to wear!). There is only week and a half before a special edition of this programme: What to wear: Halloween Edition. This is serious. Dom-dom reminded me yesterday that we didn't discuss any possibilities! This year, like usually, we're going to be dressed up and clubbing somewhere in central London. Apparently, there is this girl which is organising a party and our Group Elite is coming. I need to think fast and make decisions even faster. I do NOT want it to be like last year.

Last year I was so busy with my studies that I put off buying my costume for the last minute. It was a very bad decision and I regretted it dearly. I was constantly on the telephone/texting/BBM with Dom-dom, AM, Monx and AB about which outfit to choose and what is SHE wearing. In the end I've chosen to dress up as a Marie Antoinette. Sexy one. I mean barely-there dress, white stockings with blue ribbons and extreme silver heels. And what did I get? Certainly nothing like that.

Me and Boyfriend decided to venture to the biggest and most-well-stocked costume shop in London. They say that it has 6 floors for crying out loud! I was so excited! So off we went, on a Saturday afternoon. My dreams were crushed and reality hit me when we were standing in the queue OUTSIDE of the shop for about 40 minutes. Inside was even worse, cramped like sardines in a tin I was beginning to feel like this is a fight for survival. Of course my natural instincts of preservation and finding a good piece of prêt-à-porter kicked in and I delegated Boyfriend to his floor to find something* for himself. I didn't have time for it!

When I finally got to the last floor (stairs and the place is tiny) - because OF COURSE ladies' costumes must be in some "dark" corner - I've found out that EVERYTHING from my prospective list of Items To Buy When There Is No Marie Antoinette Costume is sold out! After spending painful 2 hours trying to get attention of sales people I gave up and chose a fairy outfit** with last minute addition of sparkly wings. A far, far, FAR cry from my FABBEST choice.

Still, we did have an amazing night, but for the whole year now all I can think about how amazing I would will look in the costume I wanted. And now I've visited the website and some of them are already out of stock on the website! No way. On Tuesday I'm going there and I'm not leaving without a fight.

* He also had a bit of a problem, because some costumes were sold out, but in the end he settled for Robin Hood. He was not impressed.
** I panicked and it was a safe choice. No-one can try the items on, because it is one-of-a-kind-very-expensive-and-child-labour-stuff-from-China. Packed in a sealed plastic bag. Apparently if you have spare £70, you can become an owner of these amazing pièces de résistance.
